Gov. Nwifuru Expresses Satisfaction With Ebonyi Local Government Election

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct and large turnout of the electorate to vote in the ongoing 2026 Local Government Elections.

 Speaking to Newsmen shortly after casting his votes at his polling unit, Edupfu Okemini 002, Enyanwuigwe Ward in Izzi Local Government Area, the Governor disclosed that reports across the state indicated that people turned out in their numbers to elect candidates of their choices.

He expressed confidence that his party the All progressives Congress will emerge victorious in the elections , saying the party has earned the confidence and support of the people.

On whether he is working to get endorsement of other political parties ahead of 2027 general elections, the Governor said " l want Ebonyi people to endorse me not political parties. That has been my stake." 

The Governor expressed gratitude to Ebonyi people for their support 

so far.

" We expect other political parties to compete with us even in the general elections. You need opponents who can compete with you because they can teach you certain things without hidding your lapses" 

The elections are going simultaneously in the 13 Local Government Areas and 171 electoral wards accross the State.
