Speaker, Nigeria House of Representatives, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas has commended the member representing Ikwo/ Ezza South federal constituency, in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Chinedu Ogah, for his quality representation of his constituents.
The speaker gave the commendation on Sunday at an event to mark 47th birthday anniversary celebration of Hon. Ogah held at his Item Amagu country home in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.
The Speaker who was represented by Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo of Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, showered encomium on the lawmaker, assuring that the National Assembly will support Hon. Chinedu Ogah to bring more Constituency projects to the constituents.
During the event, Hon. Ogah empowered his constituents with N100 million, cash and equally distributed 20, 000 bags of fertilizer to farmers in the constituency for bumper harvest, stressing that the empowerment program was to appreciate his constituents for their support during the election and also to help reduce poverty in his Constituency.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Ogah said that he embarked on the programme to alleviate the suffering of the people.
"Since my inauguration as a member of the Federal House of Representatives on the 19th November, 2019 by the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, I have lived above board to justify the confidence reposed on me, through effective legislation and formation of programmes and Policies aimed at addressing the daunting challenges confronting our people.
“The empowerment programme was to appreciate you all for your support during the election. It also a way reducing poverty and restore hope to the downtrodden” Most importantly, to support the administration of President Bola Asiwaju Tinubu and His Excellency Rt Hon Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru.
"As usual and part of activities lined up for this year 2023 programme, I had in the last four days visited Abakaliki and Afikpo Correctional Centres, Motherless babies home, Destitute Homes, Artisans Centres, and Other places to show love to the downtrodden and other less privileged in the society.
"I also used this period to inaugurate some of the projects I executed in the constituency between 2022- 2023. These include; 3 class room block at Igweledoha Amagu, motorized borehole at Eke Echara, solar street light in Orinte, Ezza South, Okpotegu bridge at Echara Ikwo, Enyibirichiri Alike, Akwakwa bridge, Hand Pump borehole at Echi Alike, 4 Class room block at Ndegu Echara Central School, Abakaliki - Noyo Ndegu Echara - Obubra road, Item Amagu - Enyibirichiri concrete pavement road, Amainyima Okpuitumo transformer, Enyibirichiri Amagu transformer, Noyo Alike repaired Borehole, Akunakuna transformer, Motorized Borehole at Nsuba Okpuitumo, Solar grid power plant at Azuoffia Item Amagu and 3 Classroom Block at Edukwu Edo Primary School", he stated
Ogah explained that he has extended his empowerment program outside his constituency as according to him, lifting people gives him joy and satisfaction.
He called on the people of his constituency and the state at large to support the APC government, the President of Nigeria, Bola Asiwaju Tinubu and The executive governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, to succeed for more dividends of democracy.
In her speech, the wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Mary -Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, commended Comrade Chinedu Ogah's leadership foresight and Congratulated him on his 47th birthday anniversary, praying God to grant him more fruitful years of service to humanity. She enjoined Ebonyians particularly, the Youths to keep faith with APC led administration in the state under the watch of His Excellency Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as it is the government of the youth, adding that the Governor is prepared to lead the state to greatness.
Other speakers at event which included the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, Sen.Ken Eze of Ebonyi Central Zone, Sen. Osita Ngwu of Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Hon. Iduma Igariwey Enwo, Member Afikpo North/Edda constituency who also doubles as Chairman Southeast caucus NASS, Rt. Hon. Munachim Ikechi Alozie of Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Fed. Constituency, Hon. Eze Nwachukwu, Hon. Ifeanyi Ogba, Hon. Joseph Nwobasi, Hon. Amobi Ogah, Hon. Emmanuel Uguru, business moguls, traditional rulers, Representatives of Hausa community, among others praised the excellent performances of Rep Chinedu Ogah and prayed for God's continued guidance and protection as he discharge his constitutional mandate to his people.
