Ebonyi Int'l Airport To Commence Flight Operation In Two Weeks - Ngwu

Ebonyi State International Airport is set to commence flight operations in two weeks time. The Spacial Assistant to the State Governor on Infrastructure and Airport Project matters, Engr  Frank Ngwu, revealed this while addressing Newsmen during Airport staff documentation exercise held at the International Airport, on Thursday.


Engr. Ngwu, assured "that in less than two weeks the Airport will be ready for official commissioning to start full operations.

He added that all the facilities to make it qualified among the existing International  Airports in the Country has being put in place,  "all the  equipment has being installed, both the control tower are fully ready, and had applied to the Nigerian civil  Aviation regulatory Authority for flight pre- test Inspection and  expecting their arrival in the next few days ahead, he is also  assured that all the equipments specified by the Agency  has being put in place, which any moment after their Inspection and  Certification, flight operation will commence immediately,  maintaining that In less than two weeks the Airport will start full operation.

The Head of Service, Dr Mrs  Rita Mary Okoro, on her part, thanked the State Governor, Enger David Nweze
 Umahi who has made every effort to ensure the Airport project is a reality.

She added that the Governor never relented in making sure that all the requirements requested by the Civil Aviation regulatory Authority were met before the expiration of his administration.

Mrs Rita also disclosed that the documentation exercise was to ensure staff are well engaged in all the departments which  includes; Aviation security , Aerodrome rescuer, fire fighters,
Safety management system,
Huma resources / Administration,
 Engineering Service,
Environmental Department,
Airport Operations,
Commercial / Accounting.

She advised those successful in the exercise, to put in their best to ensure the Airport meet the International standard as it is, and to make it be the best in service delivery more than other existing Airports, both in Nigeria and beyond.

Participants who spoke to newsmen during the exercise Includes, Mr Oduma  Nnamdi, Miss Ngwuta Sarah among others, expressed appreciation to the state government for the opportunity to serve and promised to live up to expectation.

  1. Good one from His Excellency but the airport road need to be completed the duallization also for safer trips
