Afikpo Council Boss, Vows To Complete Strategic Projects To Boost Economic Growth

The Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam has given the reassurance that his administration will complete some of the projects abandoned or  left uncompleted by his predecessors.

Hon. Uche Ibiam disclosed this on Easter Monday when he received in his office the Executives of Unwana/Afikpo SeaFood Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society Limited who paid him a Courtesy visit.

The Group  made up of Calabar based business magnets of Afikpo Local Government extraction, was led by their Chairman, Mr  John Ibiam Agha (Man Alone).

The Council Boss who noted that Government all over the world was a continuum, hinted that his administration has concluded arrangements to commence work at the uncompleted Council Plaza, adding that the Plaza as well as other critical projects were  captured in the 2023 Budget of the Council for completion.

He thanked the august visitors for deeming it wise to visit from Calabar and urged them to always participate and invest in the processes that would fast track the socio economic development of their Communities and by extension; the political economy of Afikpo and Ebonyi State at large.

Hon. Uche Ibiam while commending Afikpo people in diaspora for  being good Ambassadors of Ebonyi State, equally advised them to sustain such spirit,even as they  strive for peace, mutual co-existence and development of their host communities.

Earlier in a remark,the Chairman of  Unwana/Afikpo SeaFood Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society Limited, Mr. John Ibiam Agha(Man Alone)  Congratulated  Hon. Uche Ibiam on his emergence as the Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area in this political dispensation and recalled with nostalgic feelings the days he was with them in Calabar as a Student of UNICAL.

He expressed satisfaction with the accomplishments of Hon. Uche Ibiam within 7months in Office and stressed that the news of his good works as Council Chairman is spreading like harmattan fire in Calabar and other parts of the Country and even beyond the shores of Nigeria.

He conveyed the warm greetings and goodwill of Afikpo people in Calabar and prayed that God Almighty will continue to grant him the wisdom and strength to perform beyond expectations

Other members of the Group who spoke like Mr Ndukwe Ogbonnia Ndukwe and Hon Ransom Ogbonnia Eni; appreciated the Council Chairman for the warm reception given to them and wished him an eventful tenure that would bring about a new dawn in the annals of Afikpo Local Government Area.
