PDP Chieftain apologizes to Gov. Umahi over defamatory publications

A Chieftain and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has apologized to Governor David Nweze Umahi over his defamatory publications against him with his cronies.

This was contained in apology letter to the state governor which was endorsed by Barr Friday Agbom who is also the  Proprietor of Kingdom Model Secondary School, Idembia in Ezza South State and other  four persons.

The letter read in full:

A PUBLIC  APOLOGY TO THE GOVERNOR OF EBONYI STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY, CHIEF ENGR. DAVID NWEZE UMAHI.

We, the management, teachers and students of Kingdom Model Secondary School Idembia, Ezza South LGA, Ebonyi State humbly apologize to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Engr. David Nweze Umahi for discrediting and attacking his sacred image, office and person on Media in error, through our previous publications.

We humbly wish to withdraw all defamatory publications credited to our dear Governor by us or in our name (directly or indirectly) most especially the alligation that His Excellency, Chief Engr. Nweze Umahi closed down our school, Kingdom Model Secondary School, Idembia on the ground that Barr. Agbom Friday who is the school proprietor and PDP Chairman Ezza South LGA refused to join APC  and inform the general public to disregard same as such were done in error.

Recall that Kingdom Model Secondary School Idembia, Ezza South LGA, Ebonyi State was closed down on 8th day of December 2020 by some officials of Ebonyi State Government.

We recently discovered that the closure was iniciated and championed by  persons  who were against our progress as a school just to enable them destroy our business knowing the weighty nature of the said alligation and charged Political tension in the state within the period.

The Governor, His Excellency, Engr. David Nweze Umahi as the Chief Security officer of the state merely acted on it in discharge of his statutory function.

In our response to the closure of the school owing to the charged Political tension in the state  as a result of the recent defection of His Excellency, Chief Engr. David Nweze Umahi from PDP to APC (which is his Constitutional Right), we felt that the closure was because Barr. A. F. Agbom who doubles as  the school proprietor and Chairman of PDP Ezza South LGA Ebonyi State refused to join APC that warranted the immediate closure of the school. That master minded our responses that enflamed the Media space in the state.

We feel that it will be  a sin on our side to discover such facts and fail to apologise publicly to His Excellency, our Dear Governor for such attacks. He actually doesn't deserve it haven known the truth.

We sincerely apologise to His Excellency for sparking off such media attack on him. We pray that he forgives our ignorance as a father. It wasn't intentional. We are very sorry.

We further apologise to all our leaders in the state, both PDP and APC who were equally attacked or offended during the period .

By way of clarity, we wish to state here that the alligation/ report against us was totally false, as same was made in bad faith, with the aim of defaming our characters before the Governor and destroying our business.

We pray His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State to forgive us as his children and passionately appeal that he reopen our school so that the innocent Ebonyi children who are schooling in the school would join their counterpart in the current academic year.

We assure Your Excellency that if our apology/ appeal is accepted,  we shall continue to align ourselves with the government policies on education and security as law abiding citizens and shall  intensify our efforts on the fight against cultism and other related offences, as we have always done.

Thanks for accepting our apology Your Excellency Sir.

Signed:
