The leadership tussle which was reported to have erupted in the Ebonyi State Tipper Drivers Union has been put into rest by the Secretary of the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner, Chief Kenneth Igwe Ugbala this Thursday.

Our correspondent learnt that about four members of Tipper Drivers Union were on last Tuesday, arraigned by Ebonyi Police Command, over alleged illegal protest and breach of public peace in the state.

The drivers according to the Authority Newspapers and some other media agencies were accused of carrying out illegal protest against the Patron of their Union, Comrade Emeka Nwibo and members of the Union's Caretaker Committee for having allegedly not allowed the new constituted leadership to carry out duty.

It was also gathered that the accused persons, Mr. Paul Nwogudu, Chukwuebuka Chukwu, Ebonyi Chukwudi and Ehiri Kelechi were arraigned in an Abakaliki Magistrate Court 3, presided by Blessing Chukwu Ibeabuchi, on a 3 count charge following the the union crisis.

However, NATIONAL PANEL reports that the accused persons were allegedly sponsored  by the suspected enemies of the state government to mobilize and protest in Ebonyi with their heavy duty vehicles to create tension and security threats within the vicinity.

But the mobilised tipper drivers, were reportedly later succeeded parking along the Government House and Ebonyi State Judiciary complex axis of the Ogoja road, caused both vehicular and human traffic in the area.

Investigation also uncovered that the alleged sponsored group led by Mr Paul Nwogudu has been earlier dissolved by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, who at the same time constituted the Caretaker Committee under the watch of Mr Emeka Ogbaga, yet the former President, Paul Nwogudu, persisted being the embattled leader following the alleged agreement entered with its sponsors who had chosen to remain the enemies of the present administration in the state.

Our correspondent also gathered that the Secretary to the State Government, today being Thursday 24th March, 2021 settled again the lingering crisis in the tipper drivers union by redissolving Mr Paul Nwogudu leadership and equally declared the already constituted caretaker committee by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace in Ebonyi, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha which is under the patronship of Comrade Emeka Nwibo to continue taking charge of the union and the tipper park management.

In anonymity, the SSG was quoted by one of our sources from the Paul Nwogudu's group to have cautioned the enemies of Ebonyi State and  their agents within the union to key into the policies and programmes of Governor David Nweze Umahi's led administration, stressing that, "any tipper driver who is not comfortable with this resolution should rather relocate to another state than being instigating crisis among Ebonyians."

The source thus, told our reporter that nothing would allow him being used by enemies of the state to work against his own state,  saying working against against Emeka Nwibo and the newly constituted caretaker committee of the union was one of the greatest mistake made in his life.

It could be recalled that Mr Paul Nwogudu and his alleged hired supporters which majority came from outside the state had allegedly used different means including  media to spread false news that the constituted caretaker committee leadership and the patronship of the union by Comrade Emeka Nwibo was imposed on them.
