APC Chieftain warns against insinuating rift between Buhari, Tinubu

An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Prince Onu Nwaeze has warned elements within the party that are causing disaffection between President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to desist from such act.

Nwaeze while addressing newsmen in Abuja said that media reports of rift between the president and Tinubu, who is the National Leader of the party, are false.

Nwaeze who was the party’s Senatorial Candidate for Ebonyi South zone in the 2019 elections, attributed such insinuations to the handiwork of the opposition within the party.

“Tinubu is an exceptional leader who has a long-standing relationship with President Buhari since his days with the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) when the president had not even joined partisan politics.

“He remains one of the respected political leaders in the country who keeps to his principles and has built socio political bridges across the states and regions of the country.

He said that Tinubu managed the political leadership of Lagos effectively which has brought stability to the frontline state of the country.

“Tinubu would therefore manage Nigeria effectively if he emerges the president as he is most qualified to run for the country’s presidency.

Nwaeze said that the visit of the Asiwaju to the Katsina state monarch over the recent fire disaster which destroyed goods worth billions of naira was thoughtful and insightful of the former Lagos state governor.

“His donation to the fire incident victims shows his passion to assist the needy and his wide reach across the country.

“Such visit and donation shows that he is committed to the development of the country as other leaders should emulate him.
