Ex-Governor Elechi bids Ambassador Ominyi farewell to Zambia

 







The former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief  Martin Nwanchor Elechi yesterday hosted the Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Zambia,  Ambassador Nwanne Ominyi in his Alike-Ikwo country home in Ebonyi State.

The former Governor acknowledged that Nwanne Ominyi was one of those who worked very hard for his election in 2007, though he won but that the Ambassador was not rewarded due to the shape of events.

He thanked God for remembering him eventually and stressed that it was one of the reasons he deemed it necessary to host Ominyi in his country home.

A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr.  Godwin Onuora in an opening prayer during the event, urged God grant grace and wisdom to the Ambassador to pilot the affairs of the nation peacefully and to the benefit of the nation and mankind in general.

A former Secretary to Ebonyi State government, Dr. Boniface Chima who spoke on behalf of the Excos who served under Elechi in his remark appreciated ex-Governor Elechi for his thoughtfulness of hosting the Ambassador whom he acknowledged played a prominent role in his election campaigns in 2007.

The host who could not hide his happiness honoured the departing Ambassador with the gift of a wristwatch in appreciation of his value to keep to time in line with his philosophy of 'Ochudo time."

In his appreciation message, Ambassador Ominyi promised that he will not disappoint the people of the state.

The event witnessed the presence of notable personalities who in their separate speeches poured goodwill and prayed for the Ambassador.
