The Executive Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Engr. Ken Eze, said his administration is committed to make his people proud while in office.

Eze said, celebrating with his council people will not be only in the festival period such as Christmas.

He said his emergence as the Chairman of Ezza LGA in the state is a call for a steady celebration with his people especially the less privileged.

The Council Chairman made the disclosure on Christmas day at his country home, Onueke, Ezza South LGA while celebrating with his people.

He explained: "We use period of Christmas to preach peace, love to one another, message of unity in line with the preaching of Jesus Christ."

He described Christmas period as "a time of sharing with the less privileged, show love to the vunerable persons and generally, to the people around us."

He added: "We observed these just as our state Governor, His Excellency, Chief David Nweze Umahi has been doing. We need to emulate him and make our people proud."

Eze further stated: "We visited some hospitals, paid the patients' bills and that's the service to humanity.  The gesture which is in line with that of our Governor.

"The administration of Governor David Umahi is out to put smiles on the faces of Ebonyi people. We emulate him to impress our people by embarking on awards of scholarship, given interventions like the restoration of electricity in our communities, grading our rural roads, restoring of damaged bole-holes and equally sinking new ones for the benefit of our people. It is important to note that celebrating with our people shouldn't be only in the Christmas period, I celebrate them always to make them proud because they gave the mandate to be their leader."

The Chairman also called for the support of the polices and programmes of the state government as he stated that 99 per cent of Ezza South Council people are already in APC.

He, said, the defection of Governor Umahi from PDP to APC is for the interest of the masses, pointing that
"and 99 per cent of our people are already in APC. If you are in opposition in any government, it is always difficult to get the dividends of democracy," advising Igbo people to consider the decision taken by the Ebonyi State Governor as a welcome development.
