By Agatha Eze

It has become a harvest of resignation in Ebonyi State as political officeholders continue to leave their offices just because of the planned  defection by the number one citizen of the state, Chief David Umahi.

Our reporter gathered that there have been a continuous resignation of the officials of some different political parties and those occupying appointive positions in Ebonyi State following the planned defection of Governor David Nweze Umahi from the Peoples Democractic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The latest in the state is the resignation of Comrade Nwoba Chika Nwoba from being the Publicity Secretary of APC in the state.

Nwoba stated this on his social media page, saying that he had decided to leave for the party for an obvious reason best known to him.

He noted that since sworn in as the state mouthpiece of the party, his office was never funded.

He appreciated his party members especially the stakeholders of APC for finding him worthy to occupy the position.

Hear him: "I thank the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its stakeholders for finding me worthy of election into office as its publicity secretary in Ebonyi State, May, 2018 at the age 27.

"On assumption of office, I brought in the best of my media and publicity abilities to bear, selling the party and its programmes, principles and ideology to the Ebonyi people without any kind of financial commitment from the party till this day. For me, it's an effort towards strengthening our party to face the exigencies of democracy and realities surrounding the 2019 elections and beyond.

"I thank God and the people of Ebonyi State -home and in the diaspora, for sticking through to the times I reigned as the APC spokesman in Ebonyi state.

"For obvious reasons, all of which are known to me and God, I hereby resign my office as the State Publicity Secretary of the APC in Ebonyi State, today, 16th of November, 2020.

"Yours sincerely,
Nwoba Chika Nwoba."

NATIONAL PANEL also gathered that two Commissioners,  whose names are yet to be supplied equally resigned today in the state.

It could be recalled that the former member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Laz Ogbee resigned from being the state Commissioner for  Inter Governmental Affairs, the position offered to him by Governor David Umahi's led administration after being defeated in the court by Comrade Chinedu Ogah now representing the Constituency in the Green Chambers.

Nevertheless, one Comrade Chinedu Elekwachi resigned from being the state Chairman of Action Peoples Party yesterday based on advice given to him by his family members, associates and big friends after several consultations.

Still in Ebonyi, there are rumours making rounds that several resignation would take place following the new political movements erupted in the state, of which political activists are currently navigating to join a camp whose interests would be protected against 2023 general elections.

More details still uploading.
