Chief Elias Mbam, the Chairman, Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, has stated that Governor David Umahi would boost the chances of the  All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 general elections in Ebonyi State.

Mbam was speaking on the heels of the concluded plan by Governor Umahi to leave PDP and join APC.

The APC Chieftain made this statement following Umahi's meeting with the stakeholders of the APC on Sunday in his Uburu country home in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, where he told them about his intention to leave the PDP and join the APC.

Chief Mbam was one of the prominent stakeholders of APC in the meeting.

He told newsmen immediately after the gathering that the Umahi’s defection to APC has given more advantage to the party.

He said: "The governor made it clear that whoever that he has offended should forgive him. He said we are one family and decisions will not be taken in the party by him alone.

“APC as party in the state was already moving forward and had a good chance of winning the 2023 election. Umahi coming into the party has added more advantage to the party. So, it is as good as we are going to sleep because we are certainly going to win the 2023 election in the state."
