Chinedu Mkpuma, Esq., has directed all political groups and organisations to obtain prior approval from his office before holding political gatherings in the area, following a recent security breach in Amaezekwe community.
The directive, according to a public announcement issued by the council chairman, is a precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding lives and property, maintaining public order and preventing further security incidents.
Mkpuma, expressed dismay over the security breach in Amaezekwe, stressing the need for heightened vigilance and cooperation among political stakeholders to ensure peace and stability across the local government area.
The chairman acknowledged that individuals and groups have constitutionally guaranteed rights to freedom of association and peaceful assembly.
