By Our Reporter ,

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has convened a joint meeting of stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, will take place at the International Convention Centre, Awka, with proceedings expected to commence at 1 p.m.

The development was contained in an announcement dated October 22 and signed by Dr. Ben Nwankwo, Chief of Staff to the Governor and Coordinator of the Secretariat for the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Anambra State.

Soludo, who also serves as the Anambra State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Committee, is bringing together a broad spectrum of political stakeholders from both parties as preparations intensify for the forthcoming general elections.

According to the announcement, accreditation will begin at 10 a.m. at the venue, while all participants are expected to be seated before the commencement of proceedings.

The organisers warned that the doors would be closed once the meeting begins, stressing that attendance would be restricted to duly accredited invitees.

The invitation covers serving and former political officeholders and party officials who remain members of either APGA or APC, alongside other designated stakeholders considered relevant to the meeting.

Among those expected to attend are current and former governors and deputy governors of Anambra State; members of the national, zonal and state working committees of both parties; and serving and former members of the National Assembly and Anambra State House of Assembly.

All APGA and APC candidates for the 2027 general elections who belong to either party have also been invited to participate in the meeting.

The list of invitees further includes serving and former political appointees in the state and federal governments, members of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council from Anambra State, as well as serving and former elected local government chairmen, mayors and transition committee chairmen who remain members of the two parties.

Other categories of participants include current and former members of the Boards of Trustees of APGA and APC from Anambra State, coordinators of Tinubu support groups in the state, and serving local government chairmen, secretaries, women leaders and youth leaders of both parties.

Elected councillors, APGA and APC ward chairmen, as well as members of the state working committees of the Accord Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are also listed among those expected at the gathering.

The announcement added that selected stakeholders nominated by the state chairmen of APGA and APC, alongside individuals nominated by the state coordinator of the PCC, would also attend the meeting.

It explained that the notice was intended to ensure that all eligible stakeholders were adequately informed, stating that anyone who falls within the specified categories would be deemed invited.

The planned gathering comes amid growing political consultations, alignments and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections. The meeting is expected to bring together influential political figures and party structures in Anambra State for discussions at a critical stage in preparations for the polls.

However, the announcement did not specify the detailed agenda of the meeting or outline the resolutions expected from the gathering.
