Preparations are gathering momentum for the historic Ebonyi State Stakeholders Political Summit 2026, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen directed to ensure that all concerned stakeholders are invited, irrespective of their political affiliations.
The directive requires the council chairmen to disseminate the invitation to all eligible participants across their respective local government areas, in line with the broad-based and inclusive nature of the summit.
The summit is expected to bring together prominent political leaders, government functionaries and other critical stakeholders from across Ebonyi State to participate in what is being described as a significant political gathering.
Among those expected to attend are all former and serving governors and deputy governors of Ebonyi State, members of the National Assembly, past and present, as well as elected and appointed government functionaries at both national and sub-national levels.
Also invited are serving and former Local Government Chairmen and Vice Chairmen, who will represent the third tier of government, alongside the founding fathers of the state, members of the Elders Council and captains of industry.
Other categories of stakeholders expected at the summit include representatives of the Traditional Rulers Council, student organisations, religious bodies, women's groups and other relevant interest groups whose contributions are considered important to the state's political development.
To ensure an orderly and coordinated participation, accreditation for the summit will be conducted on a local government-by-local government basis.
The council chairmen have therefore been urged to take note of the various categories of invited participants and ensure that the invitation reaches all concerned individuals and groups within their jurisdictions.
The emphasis on participation across party lines underscores the inclusive character of the planned summit, which seeks to accommodate stakeholders irrespective of their political leanings.
With the October 20 date approaching, the mobilisation directive places the local government councils at the centre of efforts to ensure broad participation and effective coordination for the historic gathering.
