The campaign activities of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming Local Government Council Election officially commenced in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Tuesday with a massive show of solidarity, enthusiasm and renewed commitment by party faithful to ensure victory at the polls.
Speaking with journalists during the campaign rally at Council headquarters, Ezillo, the General Manager of Ebonyi Transport Service (EBOTRANS) and a prominent APC stakeholder in Ishielu LGA, Hon. Mrs. Jennifer Nnenna Igwe, commended the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for what she described as his visionary leadership, people-oriented governance and unwavering commitment to the development of the state.
Mrs. Igwe said Governor Nwifuru had demonstrated exceptional leadership through the execution of numerous infrastructural projects and impactful policies that had continued to improve the lives of citizens across the state.
According to her, the administration had ushered in a new era of hope by prioritising road infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and other critical sectors, while ensuring that the dividends of democracy reached communities at the grassroots.
She reiterated the people’s appreciation for the Governor’s developmental projects and appointments in Ishielu, particularly the Ezilo–Ezzaegu Road, Ezilo–Izzo Housing Estate, construction of palaces for traditional rulers and revitalisation of the Ezilo Water Scheme
“The people of Ishielu Local Government Area are delighted and appreciative of the Governor’s people-oriented leadership and numerous development projects in the area. Notable among them are the Ezilo–Ezzaegu Road, Ezilo–Izzo Housing Estate, construction of palaces for traditional rulers, revitalisation of the Ezilo Water Scheme, and the numerous appointments extended to deserving sons and daughters of Ishielu Local Government Area.
Mrs. Igwe assured the Governor that the people of Ishielu Local Government Area would reciprocate his goodwill with overwhelming support for the APC in the forthcoming Local Government Council Election scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026.
“The people of Ishielu Local Government Area remain firmly committed to his administration and will continue to support his vision and the programmes of the APC. We shall reciprocate his remarkable achievements with massive support in the 2027 general elections and beyond,” she said.
She pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation for the party, expressing confidence that APC candidates would emerge victorious across the local government.
The EBOTRANS General Manager further reaffirmed her commitment to the continued success of the ruling party, promising to work with other stakeholders to deliver massive votes for Governor Nwifuru and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
She also expressed appreciation to the Governor for the confidence reposed in her through her appointment as General Manager of EBOTRANS and commended his administration for its support and investments in the company.
She also reaffirmed her commitment to the continued growth and transformation of EBOTRANS, saying the company would remain focused on improving transportation services for the people of Ebonyi State and Nigerians at large.
“I remain deeply grateful to His Excellency for the confidence and honour bestowed on me through my appointment as the General Manager of Ebonyi Transport Service. I equally appreciate his administration’s tremendous support and investments in the company, including the procurement of brand-new Hiace buses and other strategic interventions aimed at repositioning EBOTRANS for improved service delivery.
