2027: Nwifuru Retains Obila As Running Mate, Ends Days Of Speculation Of Possible Replacement

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State may have retained his current deputy, Princess Patricia Obila, as his running mate in the 2027 general election, putting to rest days of speculation of possible replacement.

The deputy governor break the news in a letter of appreciation to the Governor, his wife and the minister of works, Engr David Umahi, placed on her Facebook page. 

The message reads in full;
"I wish to express my most profound and wholehearted gratitude to my principal, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, GGCEHF, and our esteemed First Lady and beloved mother of the state, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, for the immense honour and privilege of selecting me, once again, as the running mate for the 2027 Governorship election. 

"I also extend my deepest appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Works and former Governor of our great state, Senator Engineer David Nweze Umahi, CON, and his dear wife, Deaconess Rachael Umahi, for their continuous fatherly and motherly guidance. 

"My sincere gratitude equally goes to the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels, our formidable stakeholders, and the wonderful, peace-loving people of Ebonyi State. Thank you for your unanimous decision and for considering me worthy to serve you for a second term.

"As we look toward consolidating the monumental achievements of The People's Charter of Needs, I solemnly pledge to continue serving my principal, the Governor, and the good people of Ebonyi State with utmost humility, unwavering dedication, unshakeable loyalty, and resilience. 

"I assure you all that I will never take this trust for granted, nor will I disappoint the Governor or the citizens of our great state. 

"Thank you, Ndi Ebonyi, for this rare privilege. I am eternally grateful. Let us continue to support and mobilize massively for our great party, the APC, to secure a landslide victory in 2027.

Recall that the social media was recently awashed with speculation of possible replacement of the deputy governor, Obila for Idu Igariwey, who lost his fourth term return ticket to the green chambers of the National to the former minister of State for Health, Prince Joseph Ekumankama, a preferred candidate of the minister of works, David Umahi.
