Residents of Ebonyi State have been assured of adequate security during the forthcoming Easter celebrations. The Special Assistant to the Governor on Capital City internal Security, Mr Panchris Ikechukwu Eze, stated this while interacting to newsmen in Abakaliki, the state capital.
Eze, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to protecting lives and property of residents of the state during and after the Easter celebration.
The special Assistant to the governor noted that the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has put in place comprehensive security arrangements across Ebonyi State to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Easter season.
According to the statement, security agencies have been placed on high alert, with intensified patrols, surveillance operations and intelligence gathering across major towns, highways and rural communities in the state. The Special Assistant emphasized that the proactive measures were aimed at preventing any breakdown of law and order during the holiday period.
He urged residents to go about their lawful activities without fear, assuring that the government remains fully committed to safeguarding lives and property before, during and after the Easter celebrations.
The security aide also called on the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing useful information that could help prevent crime, stressing that community vigilance remains critical to maintaining peace.
He further advised motorists to observe traffic regulations, while youths were encouraged to celebrate responsibly and avoid acts capable of disrupting public peace.
The statement reiterated that the Ebonyi State Government would continue to collaborate with all security formations to ensure that citizens and visitors enjoy a peaceful Easter celebration across the state.
Residents were therefore encouraged to remain law-abiding, vigilant and report suspicious movements to the nearest security agency.
