Stakeholders Tasks New Executive of Omege Echara on Inclusive Leadership , Peace, Development

The new Leadership of Omege Echara village have been tasked to carry along all segments of the village in their leadership and ensure peace and development of the village. Some of the stakeholders including the member representing Ikwo North in Ebonyi State House of Assembly Hon. Ifeanyi Nwakpu, aide to former Governor Elechi, Hon. Silas Oginyi, former House of Assembly aspirants, Hon. Ebere Emmanuel Alinch among others gave the advise at the end of the village leadership election held on Friday 12th December 2025.
Speaking to Journalists, at the end of the election, the stakeholders thanked the people for their peaceful conduct before and after the election which saw Mr. Chidi Iyeji as the new Chairman of the village.

Announcing the results, Hon. Silas Oginyi said Mr. Chidi Iyeji was unanimously elected as the new village President, Mr. Chukwuka Philip as Vice Chairman, Mr. Patrick Ogboloko as Secretary, Chita Udoka as Youth President among other positions that were zoned to different sub villages.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman of Omege Echara village, Mr. Chidi Iyeji thanked the people for the trust and promised to run an open door administration. He also called on all stakeholders and people of the area to close ranks, shun divisive tactics that might harper development in the village.

The election which was well attended by men, women and youths from the six Hamlets in the village was supervised by the HoD Conflict Resolution in Ebonyi State Ministry of Boarder Peace and Conflict Resolution, Mr. Martins Igurube, Coordinator of Ikwo Southeast Development Centre, Hon. John Ogodo, security agencies and the press.
Responding to the outcome of the election, the HOD  Conflict Resolution in the State Ministry of Boarder Peace and Conflict Resolution, Mr. Martins Igurube noted that in every election, there must be those who are not satisfied with the outcome. He however called on all parties to embrace peace and charged stakeholders of the area to within seven days address some of the issues raised by aggrieved members of the village.
