2027: Elders Reaffirms Support For Nwifuru, Ogah's Re election: Condemns Malicious Social Media Attack On Ogah

By Celestine Okeh,

Elders and leaders of thought, from Ezza South and Ikwo Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State, known as IKUKUOMA Elders Council, has reaffirmed their unflinching support for the re-election bid of Governor Francis Nwifuru and Rt. Hon Chinedu Ogah, member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency come 2027 general election.

The Elders in their numbers equally condemned the malicious social media attack on Chinedu Ogah, calling on the general public to disregard such mischievous attack as unfounded, ill-conceived, and deliberate misinformation designed to mislead the public and undermine any legitimate intention he may have to seek re-election in the 2027 General Elections.

These was contained in a communique reached after a monthly meeting held at Ngagbo ewogu Civic center, Ikwo Local Government area.

The communique reads in part;

"The Ikukuoma Elders Council, comprising distinguished elders selected from across the Ikwo/Ezza  Federal Constituency for their integrity, wisdom, maturity, and experience in promoting unity, peace, and progress, held its Monthly General Meeting at Unweka, the oldest community in the Ikwo Noyo Clan.

"The meeting was well attended by representatives from the 31 political wards of the Constituency.

"During deliberations, the Council reviewed several issues of concern, including the recent sponsored and malicious media attacks targeted at the Member representing the Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON.

"After extensive deliberations, the Council observed as follows:

"That the recent media attacks were politically motivated and posed a clear risk of inflaming the political climate in the Constituency.

"That the prevailing peace in the Constituency, especially in Ikwo Noyo Clan, was being threatened by orchestrated misinformation aimed at tarnishing the image of the lawmaker

"Consequently, the Council Resolved as Follows:

"The Council condemns, in the strongest terms, the mischievous, malicious, and calculated media attacks against a distinguished son of the Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, whose patriotism, integrity, and nationalistic disposition earned him the chieftaincy title Ikukuoma of Amegu Erimogudu Kingdom and the national honour of OON, even before his election to the National Assembly in 2019.

"The Council urges the people of the Constituency to disregard the recent wave of media attacks on the lawmaker as unfounded, ill-conceived, and deliberate misinformation designed to mislead the public and undermine any legitimate intention he may have to seek re-election in the 2027 General Elections.

"The Council reaffirms its total confidence in Hon. Ogah, recognizing him as a worthy son and exemplary leader whose integrity, conduct, and service continue to command respect and admiration within and beyond the Constituency.

"The Council reviewed Hon. Ogah’s socio-political trajectory before and since his election into the National Assembly, expressing satisfaction with his people-centred leadership style, highlighted by numerous development projects, employment facilitation, economic empowerment initiatives, scholarships, and humanitarian interventions across all 31 wards of the Constituency and beyond.

"The Council commends his effective and result-oriented representation, which has brought honour and visibility to the Constituency. In view of his legislative competence, experience, and outstanding performance, the Council affirms that Chinedu Ogah fully deserves another term in office, which is constitutionally and morally within his rights.

"The Council therefore unanimously supports Rt. Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah, OON, as its preferred candidate for the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the 2027 General Elections, and urges the general public to support his political ambition.

"Furthermore, the Council, recognizing the Governor’s exceptional leadership and superlative performance, declares its support for the second tenure of His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, FCIArb, GGCEHF.
The Council also extends its total support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his renewed mandate in 2027.

Conclusion

The Ikukuoma Elders Council expresses profound appreciation to the good people of Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency and urges them to remain vigilant and not allow desperate individuals to mislead them with propaganda as the Elections approach.
