Ekwunife who witnessed the final match of the ongoing Kingsley Obiukwu Foundation Unity Cup 2025 between Warriors FC of Nnewi and Elephant FC of Osumenyi describes early talent hunt as veritable tools to develop sport especially football in Nigeria.
Presenting the trophy to the victorious Elephant FC of Osunenyi, Senator Ekwunife who is also the Director General of the South East Governors' Forum described, Kingsley Obiukwu as a man who has great passion for youth development.
She said the Foundation through sports has been reaching out to the society and assisting youths to fulfill their destinies and promised that APC government will invest in sports development and empowerment of the youths when elected in November 8 governorship election in Anambra State..
Earlier, the Founder of Kingsley Obiukwu Foundation, Kingsley Obiukwu said the Unity Cup tournament is an annual event aimed at fostering peace among communities as well as developing talents in sports.
He thanked all participating teams and the officials for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner, adding that in the spirit of sportsmanship, there must be a winner.
The one event which took place at Technical School field, Utuh in Nnewi South local government area of Anambra State had many teams displaying their skills.
