Aisha Nwachi Awards Scholarship To Survivor Of Flood Disaster.

Following the recent case of flooding in Enohia Itim and Kpoghirikpo Communities in Afikpo Local Government Area, Little Miss Mgbo Agha, survivor of the flood disaster has been awarded scholarship by the Coordinator of Ubeyi Development Centre Afikpo, Hon Chief Mrs Aisha Nwachi.


Miss Agha, 19 Months old was seen floating on the water and was immediately pulled ashore by divers while still breathing while both parents and 3 siblings were drowned and their bodies later seen by local divers.



Local sources told our reporter that the plantation in both communities were submerged by the ravaging deluge on Thursday before showing signs of receding on Monday leaving massive destructions of life, cash crops and other agro-allied produces in its trail.


As at the time of filing this report, a total number of 7 persons lost their lives.

5 bodies, the source revealed later washed ashore and buried by the seashore.


However, pathetic is the missing of some bodies not yet seen by divers.



In her message of healing and hope on  Monday in Enohia Itim Community Primary School Field when victims of the flood disaster from the community gathered, Hon Chief Mrs Aisha Nwachi with misty eyes condoled with the victims and urged the survivors to see the situation as natural occurrence which can befall any mortal without prior notice.


She distributed palliatives worth millions and awarded scholarship to the only survivor of the deluge.

"I am here to sympathise with you on this sad occurrence.

"Please, be consoled.

" I am touched by the heart-rending story especially those shared by eyewitnesses.

"Today, I have awarded scholarship to little Miss Mgbo Agha. As the Coordinator of Ubeyi Development Centre, I will be supporting her with monthly stipend to Carter for her needs and upkeep till she registered in any school.


"The death of one's parents is devastating and as government, we will step in to ameliorate the teething situation.

"This child is indeed a child of destiny and she will live to fulfill God's purpose for her life and be useful to us as a community", the Coordinator said.
