Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has commended Ikwo people for maintaining enduring peace in the area, assuring the people of the continued Government support.
While speaking to the people at Edukwu Noyo in Ekpelu, the ancestral home of Ikwo people, during the 2025 Nnesweoha festival, the Governor who was represented by the Deputy, Princess Patricia Obila, congratulated Ikwo people and appreciated the stakeholders for the growing unity in the area.
In his speech, the chief host and the Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area Barr. Sunday Nwankwo, expressed appreciation to the people for their loyalty to the governor and to his administration, assuring of his commitment in stepping down the people's charter of needs to them.
"My message to Ikwo people is that of gratitude and appreciation. I am grateful that they are obeying the governor's directives in all ramifications. Their loyalty is not in doubt to the governor.. by extension, they are also loyal to me and my Services to them. I am committed towards stepping down the dividends of people's charter of needs to them. And they are not taking it for granted. You can see the crowd here today, you can see the feeling of gratitude. You can see the feeling joy and appreciation to the Governor".
The event featured various cultural display, exchange of gifts to the visitors and good will messages from stakeholders, leaders and people from all walks of life.
The event witnessed the presence of Ikwo sons and daughters , friends and in-laws, well wishers, political leaders, the clergy, captains of industry, the academia, traditional rulers, youth and women groups amog others.
