The Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Moses Ije Odunwa, has distributed first batch of farm inputs to the farmers of Ikwo South Constituency to encourage farming and enhance productivity. The event, which took place at his hometown, Effiemgbabu Inyimegu, in Ikwo Local Government Area, witnessed large numbers of farmers, Party loyalists, and indeed, the people of Ikwo South Constituency.
Speaker Odunwa, who was represented by his Chief Protocol Officer, Hon. Nwoba Victor Awoke, commended the people of Ikwo South Constituency, for their unwavering support and firm commitment to peace, and enjoined them to remain resolute to peace, emphasizing that Peaceful environments foster innovation and development.
"He said that I should thank you for your unwavering support and partnership at all times. This gesture is to encourage farming and enhance productivity.
''Most importantly, he commends you specially for your peaceful disposition, and encourages you to remain committed in ensuring that there is peace in all the nooks and crannies of your communities."
Speaker Odunwa said that the distribution of the farm inputs was the first batch, emphasizing that the second batch will come in the near term. He enjoined the beneficiaries to take advantage of the gesture, by ensuring that the inputs are used for the intended purpose. Speaker Odunwa thanked the State Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, for giving him the enablement, and enjoined the people, to remain resolute to the administration of Governor Nwifuru.
The Town Union President of Amagu Community, and Member, Local Government Advisory Committee, Hon. Hilary Igwe, thanked Speaker Odunwa, for the humanitarian disposition, conveyed the gratitude of the people of Ikwo South, and pledged unflinching support and and loyalty.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Nweke Johnson, Mrs Alobu Philomena, and Mrs Eunice Ogboji, thanked Chief Odunwa for always remembering the people at the grassroots, pledged unalloyed support, and prayed for God's blessings upon him.
Some of the farm inputs distributed include Bags of fertilizer, Bags of rice seeds, Cartons of herbicides, and undisclosed amounts of money.
