Again, Over 400 Nursing Mothers, Pregnant Women, Others Benefits From Speaker Odunwa's Free Medicare

Over 400 pregnant women, nursing mothers, children and aged has again, benefited from the free medical outreach of the speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Moses Odunwa.

Speaking during the free medical outreach he organized for the people of Ndufu Amagu II, in collaboration with Ebonyi State Ministry of Health and BERWO Foundation, at MDG Primary Healthcare Centre, Abina Amagu Ikwo, Speaker Moses Ije Odunwa, reiterated his commitment in ensuring that people at the grassroots benefit from his free medical outreach. 
Speaker Odunwa, who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Theophilus Igwe, enjoined the people of Ndufu Amagu II, to keep supporting the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru. He described good health as essential to societal development, and expressed his preparedness, in ensuring that people at the grassroots, benefit from the kind gesture, so as to reduce mortality rates, and save financial burden to some people.

"If you look at the way the exercise is going, you will see that people are happy. No money is collected from them, everything is free. This is because, the Rt. Hon. Speaker has deemed it necessary in ensuring that people are attended to, especially the less privileged, and that is why it is taken to the grassroot."
"In the society today, so many people don't have money to attend to their medical needs, and that is why the Rt. Hon. Speaker deemed it necessary to sponsor this medical outreach, to reduce high rates of mortality, and save financial burden to some people."

"I want to use this opportunity to enjoin people to always support the administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. Continue to support him, support his administration and the government of Ebonyi State."

Chief Odunwa, thanked the people of Ndufu Amagu II for giving him their mandate during the last election, adding that the free medical outreach, was one of his ways of giving back to the society.
Earlier, the Assistant State Immunization Officer, and Desk Officer, Baby Shower Initiative, Mrs Aloh Ngozi, said that over 400 people were examined, and also given free medications, whereas the few that were examined and found critical were hospitalized, adding that one of the pregnant women delivered a bouncing baby girl during the programme.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Ignatius Akpukwa, Mrs Nwafor Ifunanya, Mrs Igwe Chigozie, and Mrs Julina Obura, disclosed the health challenges they had, adding that that were examined and were also given free drugs. They conveyed gratitude to the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Moses Odunwa, and prayed for God's abundant favour upon him.
The event which  witnessed the presence of great numbers of children, pregnant women, men, and women from Ndufu Amagu II,  featured health promotion, disease prevention and treatment, distribution of safe delivery and mama kits to pregnant women and nursing mothers, health sensitization and education, free health screening (BP, Glucose, HIV) for adult and treatment among other things.
