Addressing beneficiaries of the Palliatives, prior to its distribution, the Council Boss who was represented by his Special Assistant on General Services, Mr. Amaechi Nwankwo, appreciated the federal government for the relief materials, and thanked the State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for ensuring that the items gets to all Ebonyias across the LGAs. He called on the people to conduct themselves peacefully, adding that atleast hundred persons from each of the twenty wards will receive 10kg bag of rice each beans and other items.
The representative of the State Emergency Management Agency, (SEMA) Mr. Emmanuel Chukwu (JP) and others who also monitored the distribution alongside security agencies, the media, CAN, town union Presidents and others, commended the Ikwo Council Boss for coordinating the exercise and thanked the people for their orderliness and peaceful conduct all through the distribution of the items.
He explained that the initiative was part of the welfare components of the people's charter of needs mantra of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Mr. Chukwu also hinted that the Palliative was to alleviate hunger and provide support to the citizens of Ebonyi State, and Ikwo people in particular.
The distribution brought joy and relief to the people of Ikwo Noyo Clan, most of who expressed their gratitude and trust in the government of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru and that of the Council Chairman, Hon. Barr. Sunday Basil Nwankwo.
The Beneficiaries conveyed their happiness and optimism about the government's commitment to addressing their needs. They also prayed for continued wisdom and innovative leadership for the Governor and Council Chairman, hoping for sustained support and development in their administration.
