Dr Ben Uruchi Odoh's Emergence As BOSAG Chairman :A Triumph For Restorative Justice

In a resounding victory for the cause of justice and advocacy, Dr. Ben Uruchi Odoh, the esteemed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ebonyi State, has ascended to the prestigious position of Chairman of the *Body of States Attorneys General (BOSAG).* Today, on the 25th of April, 2024, history was made at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja as Dr. Odoh was elected to lead this esteemed assembly of legal minds.

Dr. Odoh's journey to the chairmanship of BOSAG is not merely a personal triumph; it symbolizes a triumph of principles and dedication to the noble pursuit of justice. Since assuming his pivotal role as Attorney General in Ebonyi State, Dr. Odoh has been a stalwart advocate for restorative justice, spearheading initiatives that have reshaped the legal landscape of his state. 

After decades of bureaucracy and delays, restorative justice is finally gaining traction at the highest levels of Nigerian jurisprudence. Through his tireless efforts, departments such as the Public Defender, the Department of Gender-Based Violence, and the Department of Citizens Mediation Centre were established. Mrs. Hauwa Abubakar, the Honourable Attorney General of Borno State, steps into the role of Treasurer, poised to contribute her invaluable insights to the collective mission of BOSAG.
