Bye-Election: Ebonyi APC Chair Lauds Gov Nwifuru, INEC, Others

In view of the peaceful conduct of the Ebonyi South Senatorial bye-election, the Chairman of the  All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has commended  Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru whose achievements positively influenced the outcome of the poll. 

Chief Emegha who made this known after the election's result was announced described the exercise as transparent, credible, free and fair stressing that the governor's laudable achievements made the APC coast to victory without hitches. 

He also applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and other stakeholders for being professional in their conduct. 

The party Chieftain appreciated the electorate who according to him came out in their large numbers to cast the ballot in favour of his candidate, Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani hence he scored 46,270 votes against his closest rival, Mr Ifeanyi Eleje of APGA who managed to garner 3,513 votes. 

"The election was seamless as people willingly came out to exercise their civic responsibility.
The Governor's good works spoke eloquently for him. For instance, in my polling station, the electorate were asking to know the Governor's political party, insisting that they wanted to vote for his candidate because he is a good man". 

"There was no issue of snatching of ballot boxes. In short, there was no chaos of any kind during the exercise. The governor's administrative prowess and benevolence were critical factors that no one can deny". 

"The party's candidate, Prof Anthony Okorie Ani won the election with wide margin and has set precedence for future elections in the state and beyond".
