Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani was born to the family of Augustine Ani Nwakuma of Ugwu Odida Onicha, Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State on 24th June, 1966.
He began his educational pursuit at Onicha Central School Egunkwo Onicha where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1978. After completing his basic school, he enrolled into Government Secondary School Owutu Edda where he obtained his General Certificate Examination/West African School Certificate (GCE/WAEC) in 1983.
With his quest and passion for academics, Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani moved to University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he acquired a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Agriculture and graduated with Second Class Upper Division (Magma cum Laudate) in 1989. His desire to gain more knowledge lead him into starting a Master's Degree program at the same University of first degree, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He obtained a Master of Science (M. Sc) in Agricultural Extension Administration in 1992.
As a skilled researcher and academic guru, he was advised to reach the peak of academics excellence. He listened with clear eye and began a Doctoral Philosophicus programme at University of Maiduguri where he bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology in 2002.
However, his academic prowess created more opportunities for him. So, Prof Anthony Okorie Ani was immediately invited for a job offer in 1994 as an Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Maiduguri, Borno State after completing his master's program. He rose from the level of an Assistant Lecturer on June 27th, 1994 to the rank of a Professor on 1st October, 2006. As an academic star who knows his onion in the field of Agricultural Extension, his services was demanded by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri which he passionately granted them on 1st November, 2013. This made him to terminate officially his services with University of Maiduguri. So, Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani is currently a lecturer with the Department of Agricultural Extension, Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
The dogged scholar was widely engaged and consulted to serve in different capacities by different Universities in Nigeria. Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani has served the University in different capacities.
-He was the secretary of the committee on Postgraduate Diploma in Agriculture of the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria from August 1997-August1998.
-He was the Faculty coordinator in the division of General Studies of the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria from 12th June, 2000-July, 2012

The academic juggernaut, Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani has Assessed overwhelming number of Professors of Agriculture in different Universities, numbering up to Fifteen (15). He has also supervised more than Eleven (11) postgraduate students who have completed their both Masters and Doctorate Degrees and outrageous number of others who are still yet completed.
The academic guru has attended, participated and organized more than thirty four (34) Workshops, Seminars and Conference. No wonder he is versatile in all facets of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Sociology.
The impeccable academia, Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani has written to his credit over One Hundred and Ten Article Journals, more than Twenty Six (26) Conference Proceedings, More than four (4) Text Books , more than Fifteen (15) Unpublished Articles, Two (2) text books that are universally in use, Three (3) articles that are undergoing review and has gotten Eight (8) Honorary Awards.
The agricultural expert, Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani is widely consulted on issues of Agric Extension, Methodologies and Educational Development. He is happily married to her "Ugo Di ya" and blessed with Children, Males and Females.
