Lawmaker Tasks Civil Servants On Diligence To Duty

The Governor of Ebonyi State His Excellency Rt Hon Chief  Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has continued to receive enconmiums for the payment of pernsions and gratuities to retirees in the State 
 
The latest of such Commendations came from the Chairman, Ebonyi State House of Assembly Committee on  Establishment and Donor Agencies and member representing Edda West Constituency Hon Prince Nkemka Okoro Onuma when he led his Committee on a familarization visit to the office of the Head of Service.

Hon Nkemka Okoro Onuma who doubles as the Chief Whip in the 7th Assembly maintained that the Goverrnor has been making people happy and so he should be expecting happy results which would inturn make the whole Ebonyi people to rejoice.

He implored the Head of Service to ensure that Ebonyi workers reciprocate this kind gesture of the Goverrnor by making them to work harder and that in the event of retiring, concerned workers should notify the government at least three months before time as this will enable the government provide for the gratuities and pensions immediately.

Also Speaking, a member of the representing Ohaozara Hon Chikezie Igu opined that the Civil Service  is the engine room of the government, in which the establishment is facing challenges that will need the attention of the House of Assembly.

Equally, Hon Godwin Abiri representing Izzi West Constituency thanked the Goverrnor for repositioning the state civil service and for the payment of the retirees.

Responding, the Head of Service Dr RitaMary  Okoro said in as much as the Head of Service is the focurum for government policies to be achieved, she will do all within her powers to make the workers comply with government directives.

She maintained that in as much as the Goverrnor did not hesitate to approve the gratuities and pensions of retirees from 1996 till 2021 workers will ensure that deligence  and hardwork is thier yardstick.

Dr RitaMary Okoro equally told the Committee that all retiring staff have been informed to notify the office immediately it is three months to thier retirement period.

In a vote of thanks, the Director of Establishment Mr Emmanuel Oti Informed the Committee of reliable power supply to the establishment but commended the State Goverrnor, Rr Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for giving the workers the right footings to do their work.

He promised that the establishment will maintain a good working relationship with the State House of Assembly through the Committee in Establishment and Donor Agencies.
