Afikpo Council Chairman Lauds Gov Nwifuru's Appointments; Sue For Peace, Unity Among Stakeholders



Stakeholders of Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have unanimously applauded Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for the calibre of Men from the Council Area he appointed into Positions of trust in his Government.

The Stakeholders made their feelings known during an enlarged Stakeholders meeting convened by the Council Chairman, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam on Sunday at Afikpo Local Government Council Hall.

Addressing the Stakeholders, Hon. Uche Ibiam, who expressed satisfaction with the choice of Engr Timothy Nwachi as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor; Professor Amari Omaka as Hon Commissioner for Tertiary Education; Professor Nwogo Ajuka Obasi as Hon Commissioner for Market Development & Parks  and Hon. Obinna Oko Enyim as S. A on Internal Security, Afikpo LGA. He further applauded the State *Governor,His Excellency, Rt.Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on the choice of these erudite professionals with outstanding track records and proven integrity into his Government and assured of their abilities to deliver in line with the Policy thrust of the present administration.

The Council Boss who used the opportunity to formally introduced the 2 Commissioners and S.A from Afikpo LGA to the circle of Stakeholders, enjoined the new appointees to serve their Principal,the Governor of the State with sincerity and undivided loyalty 

He further called for peace and unity  of purpose among Leaders and Stakeholders of Afikpo Local Government Area while further urging them to eschew tendencies that would sow seed of discord among them but should rather embrace those virtues that would bond them together to attract more dividends of democracy

On the area of Security, Hon. Uche Ibiam expressed concern over reported cases of theft in some parts of the Local Government Area and gave a marching order to Security Agents to liaise with local Vigilantees and youth Leaders to nip in the bud the activities of the miscreants in those flashpoints.

Concerning Political Actors who are in a hurry to get political appointment,Hon Uche Ibiam tasked them to deploy patience and understanding in waiting for their time, as those that worked for the Victory of Gov Nwifuru will definitely be appreciated in so many ways, since everybody will not be given appointment at the same time.

In their seperate speeches,the Chairman Afikpo Traditional Rulers Council and Isu-Oha 1 of Ohaisu Autonomous Community, HRH Ezeogo Engr/Arch Ewa Elechi ; the Member representing Afikpo North East State Constituency, Hon Chief Ukie Oluchukwu Ezeali;the State Legal Adviser of APC, *Barr. Liberty Ukeni; the  immediate Past Executive Chairman of UBEB, High Chief Hyacinth Ekuma Ikpor (Opia Ehugbo); Former Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly; Rt Hon Chief Christopher Omo Isu, a third Republican National Assembly Member ,Rt Hon Gabriel Eni Otu; Former Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution ,Hon. Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja (Zentus) and former Coordinator of Afikpo North East DC,Hon Chief Innocent Inya Eluu all expressed satisfaction with the way Governor Nwifuru started his administration and thanked him  for the choice of Exco members he made from Afikpo, assuring him of their unflinching support and solidarity.


On their part, the Hon Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Amari Omaka,S.A.N and his counterpart in charge of Market Development and Parks, Professor Nwogo Ajuka Obasi as well as the S. A to the Governor on Internal Security, Afikpo LGA,Hon Obinna Oko Enyim expressed their gratitude to the State Governor,His Excellency, Rt Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for seeing them fit to serve in his Cabinet and promised to inject their wealth of knowledge into the system for the rapid progress of the State.


They also appreciated the Council Chairman,Hon Uche Ibiam for convening the all important meeting and solicited for the cooperation of the stakeholders for them to perform optimally in their various areas of operation.


The meeting ended gloriously with Stakeholders in attendance using the opportunity to celebrate the Council Chairman, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam on his recent award as the Best Performing Local Government Chairman in Nigeria in the areas of Youth Empowerment, Security and Poverty Alleviation which was conferred on him by the Rootswatch Magazine, Abuja on Thursday last Week.

The Stakeholders who commended Hon Uche Ibiam for his purposeful leadership which is already attracting wide  accolades,urged him to remain focused, praying for God's guidance, protection and wisdom on him.
