In what appeared to be a new paradigm in Afikpo North Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam on Tuesday placed nine most elderly women in Unwana Community on monthly stipend.
Hon.Uche Ibiam announced this shortly after a Thanksgiving/Prayers organized by Inyom Unwana in appreciating God Almighty for their sons in positions of authority.
Enthused by the show of love by the women,the Council Boss, commended them for coming up with such noble initiative and announced a cash donation to support the outing.
The women who appreciated God for His mercies and Grace in the lives of their Sons and Daughters both at home and in diaspora also eulogized Gov. Umahi for allowing himself to be used by God to turn the fortunes of the Community through the execution of people oriented projects as well as the appointment of their sons into sensitive positions.
In their seperate speeches the Director General of Ebbc, Engr Timothy Nwachi; General Manager, Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency, Mr James Egwu Iroh and the Coordinator of Ubeyi Development Centre, Apostle Peter Uduma Nwachi all thanked the women for coming together to appreciate God for His amazing works in Unwana Community and urged them to continue in interceding for the Community for better things to come.
They noted that it is only Gov. David Umahi's led administration that have accommodated the people of Unwana Community in the scheme of things and appreciated the Governor for ceding the Local Government Chairmanship position to them, a gesture which they vowed never to take for granted.
The event was well attended by Women of Unwana Community; Lovers of God and ministers of the Gospel from the Community.
