Ebonyi 2023: Women Group Declares Support For EDON, Other LP Candidates

Women Group, 'Queen of Peace Support group' in conjunction with Wives of Labour Candidates in the Ebony state, has given their support to the Governorship Candidate of Labour Party LP,  Arc. Dr. Edward Nkwegu OFR  and other Candidates contesting for various positions in the state.

The women group made the declarations during their sensitisation campaign for Ebonyi women to vote for persons of their choice in the forthcoming General Elections.

Speaking during the sensitisation, Mrs. Antonia Nwuruku, the wife of Senatorial Candidate for Ebonyi Central, Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, represented by Mrs. Nnenna Eze, said the sensitisation is to properly educate the women on the need to vote right candidates in the forthcoming general election to avoid the deciet and mistakes of the past.

On their part,  Mrs. Nwite Jacinta, who represented the wife of LP candidate for Ishielu South State Constituency, Mrs. Nwali Peter, and Nnenna Kalu of Affikpo Southwest constituency urged Ebonyi people to vote wisely for the sake of posterity.

The Founder of the Organisation, Lady Mary Nkwegu, while addressing journalists after the event in Abakaliki, the State capital, said the group would work hard to ensure that no woman is intimidated or be forced to vote out of their wish.

Lady Nkwegu said, “All the Women in the State are going to vote for labour Party, because as the wife of the Gubernatorial Candidate if we eventually emerge, we are going to make sure that every Ebonyi girl who wants to go to School must be sponsored to the Highest level. Some will learn skills. To cut it short, no Man or woman in the State will not have something to do because Ebonyi State will be Industrialised, and people will have a choice of the type of Job they want to do.”

She said the mechanised way of Farming for all Ebonyi people would characterise their administration.

“No Ebonyi man or woman will be allowed to do manual mechanised farming.”

She however, called on all Ebonyi people to Vote labour party in 2023 General Elections.
