2023; Afikpo North Council Chair Moves To Reconcile Aggrieved APC Members, Inaugurates Reconciliation Committee

Afikpo North Council Chairman, Hon. Uche Nnajiofor Ibiam, has inaugurated a  reconciliation committee on Sunday, to reach out to  aggrieved members of APC in Afikpo North with the aim of reconciling and making the party form a formidable front ahead of the 2023 general election.

The Committee whose membership cut across all the wards has Bishop Ken Oko Daniels as its Chairman and was mandated to visit all aggrieved members of APC from Afikpo North LGA to address their concerns, as the Executive Chairman  had assured  the Stakeholders of running an all inclusive government and  it has become salient to bring everyone together to enable the party have a common goal and pursue it to a successful end 

Earlier, before the inaugration, the Chairman had directed all the Traditional Rulers and President Generals of all the communities to take charge of securities within their territories as his administration shall not  condone any form of breakdown of law.He further directed that henceforth, no community within the Local Government is allowed to carry out any form of election either for town union executives or for traditional rulers, unless appropriate approvals are granted by the State Government and stressed emphatically that no crisis of any sort within the Local Government shall be tolerated and appealed that no one  should avail himself to be used  as  an instrument for such a devilish act as the law will not consider personalities. 

The Executive Chairman further made it clear that gone are the days when major political stakeholders within the Local Government will dish out  all political positions coming to their communities to their family members but that his administration shall spring up all active party members from the various pooling units across the Local Government. He brought the meeting to an end by announcing that all those who served the Local Government at various levels between 2017 and 2022 whose positions are due for severance allowances, shall  soon be paid.


Some stakeholders who spoke during the meeting including: Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, Rt. Hon. Ogbonnia Kingsley Ikoro, Engr. Timothy Nwachi, Hon. Mrs. Princess Patricia Obila, Ezeogo Arch.Ewa Elechi and Some PG's of various  communities, appreciated the Executive Chairman of Afikpo North for his policies so far which has been geared towards the repositioning of the Local Government for more developments and prayed he sustains the tempo.
