Ebonyi Council Polls: Nwifuru, Emegha Expresses Confidence On Unity of APC

The speaker of Ebonyi state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on Thursday, said, APC in the state remains a one united family which thrives on the tenent of internal Democracy.

Nwifuru, who is also Ebonyi APC gubernatorial candidate, made the statement while interacting with journalists at the APC State Secretariat ICC, Abakaliki during the distribution of materials for councilorship primary election in the state.

The Speaker noted that the APC members have nothing to worry about whether their party candidates would win in the forthcoming general elections for the positions of the local government chairmen and ward counsellors.

He, however, called for the involvement of the APC stakeholders in their various wards and local government areas, to avoid anything that would interfere with the existing peace and unity among the party members in the state.

"You know Ebonyi is squarely APC State. The party at the ward level is in charge of today's function. The party at the state and local government levels has done what they are supposed to do. It is because if this is not properly organized, it will degenerate into internal conflict. 

"That's why we hammered much on involving the party stakeholders to make sure everything that happens within the ward, goes on in a very peaceful manner," Nwifuru said.

Similarly, the state Chairman of APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha said that every machineries has been put in place to ensure hitch free exercise and further unify the party. He assured that level playing field will be given to all aspirants in the areas where they failed to arrive at a consensus.

"As you can see, all machineries are already in place. One security wise, the commissioner of Police was duly communicated and the remind notice was also given to them. The DSS, the Civil Defense and you can see their presence and above all, we engaged so very many of Ebubeagu security outfit to make sure that it is free and credible exercise.

He reiterated the earlier resolve of the party in fielding popular candidates who will help the party to win elections in the forthcoming general election.

"Mind you, the party is looking for a popular candidates. We're hitting the general election. We cannot be talking about somebody who is not popular. We're talking about who will lead us to victory in the forthcoming election. My duty is to ensure that I win all my  elections in the state and I assure you, at the end of the exercise, we will emerge victorious", he concluded.
