President Buhari In Ebonyi, Commissions Gov Umahi's Mega Projects

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday visited Ebonyi State to commission some mega projects executed by Governor David Nweze Umahi. The two days visit is also to interact with leaders of southeast on some national issues.

 President Buhari was received at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu by the host Governor David Nweze Umahi along side Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Imo State Goernor, Hope Uzodinma and first Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Sen. Sam Egwu.

Others were the State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, the member representing Ikwo and Ezza South Federal Constituency, Comrade Chinedu Ogah among other leaders of the State.

The president on arrival in Ebonyi State commissioned some of the projects including a flyover and the King David University of Medical Sciences in Uburu, Ohaozara local government Area, the presidential lounge at the Abakaliki International Airport and the reconstructed International Market Abakaliki. 

Other projects commissioned by president Mohammadu Buhari were the international shopping mall, the new Exco Chamber, new government House, roads among others.

In his remarks, President Buhari praised Governor Umahi for executing the projects which he described as life-changing projects for economic transformation of Ebonyi State. The president noted that he was impressed by the governor's performance.

Earlier, governor David Umahi thanked the president for coming to identify with the people of the State and assured him that his government will continue to support the Federal Government’s agenda of economic diversification through state-of-the-art projects.

Different dance groups and APC faithfuls across the local Government Areas in the State tropped out in their number to welcome the president on the two days working visit billed to last from Thursday 5th to Friday 6th May, 2022.
