The 3- man ad-hoc delegate Congress of the opposition political party, the people's Democratic party PDP, in Ebonyi, on Wednesday, ended in deadlock as the Chairman of the 3-man delegate Congress, Prof.  Emmanuel Wasse Okachi alleged that the state PDP Chairman, Barr. Silas Joseph Onu forced him under duress, to share letters which he said has no identify of the recipient.
"I want to tell you what has happened in Ebonyi PDP.  For my integrity sake am addressing the press, am addressing all of you. The letters that was given to me to share to team leaders were without any form of identification.   So, I would have given these letters out to people I did not know and I was forced to do that.
As am talking to you, I have given out about eight or so, and I have five with me here. Infact, I was threatened by the party chairman that I will not leave the hotel unless I submit those letters to him. I submitted to him under duress and that's what I want you people to know", he stated.

In response, the state PDP Chairman, Barr Silas Joseph Onu described as falsehood video clip circulating around the social media that the chairman of Ebonyi 3-man Ad-hoc Delegates election was threatened under gun point to submit election materials.

The party Chairman explained that on the arrival of the delegation from Abuja, he was presented with a letter from the national leadership of the party through the committee which recommended he accord them regards as the chairman of the party and he offered to provide accommodation which was refused by the Chairman and never wanted members of his team to know his where about.

According to him "He never shared electoral material with anybody or disclose his to to his team members, nobody compelled him to do that"

"He left and before he left because the election could not hold yesterday,he was recommending to his team members that the election should be cancelled".

"He didn't come to conduct Congress,he came that the congress be cancelled"

He continued " Today, we were hoping we will conduct congreses if INEC was on ground, why we were waiting for National to communicate to INEC, the professor refused to give results sheets to the returning officers which was in ground and I insisted he give to eight of the returning officers who was on ground"

Barr Onu further explained that he is aware that some desperate politicians has bought the Chairman of the committee over but opined that under his chairmanship the right thing must be done, saying that aspirants must go out and talk to delegates as the day of staying in ones bed room to write results was over.
