The Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC, in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has reiterated the fact that there were no parallel primary elections conducted in the state.
Chief Emegha whose statement is contained in a press release personally signed by him, adjudged the exercise as an incredible template for future elections in Nigeria.
The statement reads in parts "the results, in particular that of the governorship and few others which were authenticated by the electoral panels have been duly submitted and acknowledged by the national secretariat in evidence that there no parallel primaries took place in Ebonyi State. Ebonyi APC is an empire that will continue to grow in lips and bounds despite the permutations of the opposition(s)".
"There were no winners nor losers but the delegates only chose their preferred candidates. For this singular reason, may I appeal to anyone who feels indifference to shield his or her shelves in the interest, unity and progress of the party and Ebonyi people in general. However, since no body approached the appeal committee in Abakakili to lay any complaint, let peace continue to reign supreme. Please, lets close every rank and form a united front in order to win the general elections overwhelmingly. I wish to charge each and everyone of us to maintain and build on the peace and tranquility that characterised the just concluded primaries".
"Again, am absolutely indebted to God who plotted the graph that engendered the most credible, fair, transparent and peaceful party primaries in the state hence there was no chaos, no violence, no electoral fraud nor the common practice where money bags usually influence voting. God in His infinite mercy made it happened under my watch".
"May I cease this opportunity to pour encomiums on the Electoral Committee from the National Secretariat of our party, the APC that spearheaded the primaries and critical stakehlolders for their individual and collective roles that made the outing a huge success".
