Chairman, revenue mobilization, allocation and fiscal Commission, Engr Elias Mbam, have called on Ebonyians to use the Easter celebrations as a period of sobber reflection and ponder on the sacrifices of Christ on the Cross.
Engr Elias Mbam who is a front line Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi state, stated this in his Easter message to Ebonyi people.
His message reads in full;
"It is with utmost joy that I join my fellow Christians to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
"Easter is a time we commemorate the resurrection of Jesus who died on the cross to liberate mankind from sin and death. It is a time Christians and the world at large ponder on the sacrifices of Jesus for us all. Therefore, I urge my dear friends, the Ebonyi people and Nigerians to use this holy period to reminisce on the purpose of our existence on earth, especially at this time of mighty security and economic challenges. May we put more trust in God, value human life, provide help for the needy and the less privileged and make life less difficult for everyone around us. May we think more about the things that unite us than those that divide.
"For Ebonyi people, I urge that we use this holy period to pray for the growth of our young state, for peace among our communities and for our leaders, especially as we approach the general elections.
"Finally, May the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ unify the world, bring peace to our land and prosper us all".
