“We'll adequately maintain camping edifice given to us by Governor Umahi" - Ebonyi Sports Commissioner

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Charlse Akpuenika has said that the state ministry of Youth Development and Sports will adequately maintain the ultra-modern camping edifice recently handed over to it by Governor David Umahi.

Akpuenika made the pledge in an interview, allaying concerns on adequately maintaining the multi-million naira facility.

“The facility will solve the camping challenges experienced by athletes in preparation for major national competitions as we would no longer camp our athletes in rented apartments or hotels.

He noted that the edifice strategically located within the Pa Ngele Oruta stadium complex, was a world-class facility with modern facilities and has steady water and electricity supply.

“We would imbibe the state governor’s injunction on public infrastructure in maintaining the facility to sustain its set standard.

He noted that the governor always enjoin public office holders and other citizens to take government properties as their own and take care of them in such manner.

“We would deploy all resources to ensure that the facility is not destroyed or allowed to depreciate while imbibing such orientation into intending users.

He expressed happiness that the governor acknowledged the ministry’s work on the stadium’s pitch, noting that the pitch among other sporting facilities across the state would also be adequately maintained.

“The governor motivated us by modernly renovating the stadium and towing the path of such high quality, we would replicate such at the camping edifice, stadium among others.
