The people of Izzi clan have urged Ebonyians to embrace peac as a springboard for the speedy and aggressive development of their state.

The people of Izzi Nation made the call on Thursday at Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki during their expanded stakeholders meeting with Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State.
Presenting their 7-point Communique, one of the political leader of Izzi Nation and the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru said the clan commended the proactive measures and uncommon disposition of  Governor David Nweze Umahi in addressing the security challenges in the state.

They condemned the unwarranted attacks on the critical infrastructures in the state, maiming and killing of security officials as well as wanton destructions of properties; and charged security agencies not to relent in fishing out and bringing the culprits to book.

"Izzi clan highly appreciates the proactive measures, unprecedented and uncommon disposition of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi in addressing the security challenges in the State.
"Izzi clan dissociates herself from the unwarranted and unwholesome media attacks by undesirable elements in the society, against the person of the Governor and the Government of the State.

"Izzi clan wholesomely notes with great joy, the unparalleled economic drive of His Excellency, the unprecedented infrastructural development, the paradigm shift in the style of leadership, the dynamic approach to Governance and the synchronised transformation of the entire landscape of Ebonyi State; and hence with one voice  pledge to support the present Government by creating an atmosphere devoid of violence, anywhere in Izzi land and beyond," parts of the communiqué read.

Izzi Nation according to the Speaker enjoined founding fathers and traditional rulers of Ebonyi State from Izzi extraction, to  educate their people in the three local government areas on the need to guard jealously critical government infrastructures in their localities as well as exercise restraints in trading in breach of peace.

The clan however, enjoined all her sons and daughters to shun all acts that can threaten the peace  but work for peace and stability of the State.
"The clan therefore, enjoins all her sons and daughters to shun all acts that can threaten the peace of the State, by not only supporting the Government of Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi, but also join hands in promoting unity, peace and good governance in the State," the Speaker read the communiqué.
