BREAKING: Ebonyi: NYSC inducts Batch 'A' Stream II Corps Members

 



*Charges them to take orientation course training very seriously

The State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ebonyi State, Mrs Bamai Mercy Dawuda on Friday expressed joy while welcoming the 2021 Batch 'A' Stream II Corps members for the orientation course at the NYSC permanent Orientation Camp, Old MacGregor College, Afikpo North Local Government Area.
The State Coordinator at the opening ceremony for the event congratulated the Corps Members on their successful completion of their courses in various institutions of higher learning which qualified them for the call-up to serve the nation. 

She explained that all the Corps Members deployed to the camp went through registration exercise, commending them for having been peaceful and orderly in their conduct and submissive to all the camp rules and regulations.

According to her, the conduct of the Corps Members since arrived the camp is an indication of their readiness to embrace the scheme in its entirety, by contributing their quota for overall development of the state and the country at large.


The State Coordinator noted: "My dear Corps Members, the NYSC scheme over the years has become a veritable tool development of our great country. The scheme has effectively championed several government programmes and policies, by the numerous skills and man power provided by Corps Members for the benefit of all Nigerians.

"The main objectives of the NYSC scheme is to instill in the corps members discpline and for the integration and unity of the nation and to achieve this, the service year has been carefully planned and segmented into four cardinal programmes namely; orientation, primary assignment, community development service, winding up and passing out."



The 3 weeks orientation course according to Mrs Dawuda, was packaged to instill the Corps Members the discplined mind and sense of self-reliance needed to face the challenges ahead during the service year. 



She however, urged the Corps Members to take every aspect of the orientation course training very seriously.

"My dear children as you have been formally inducted into the prestigious NYSC scheme Batch 'A' Stream II service year, I implore you to explore every available avenue to make the orientation camp a memoriable one. 

"I charge you to take seriously the skill acquisition and entrepreneurial training, and other trainings you will receive during the orientation course.

"The essence of all these is to stem the tide of unemployment in the country and the rising insecurity which is being faced by the country of recent.


"One of your roles as good ambassadors of this great nation, is to avoid any kind of destruction by your fellow youths because this great country belongs to all of us," Dawuda advised.

She appreciated the government authourities and the NYSC collaborating agencies for their contributions that always make the state to record a huge success. 

NATIONAL PANEL reports that the occasion was honoured by Governor David Umahi (represented) and the Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Justice Elvis Ngene represented by Justice Chris Eze who administered the oath of allegiance on the Corps Members.
