Fulani Herders' Attack in Benue: 11 killed, many injured

 



 
 

At least 11 people have been reportedly killed and many other persons give a high degree of injuries in Benue following the suspected Fulani herders' attacks in the state.

The incident which took place in Friday night affected the people of Makyondu community in Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State.

 The incident according to our sources occurred around 4:am on Friday night when the residents were already asleep.

The Media Aide to the LG Chairman, Mr. Udam Samuel said recovered bodies of the deceased have been deposited in a morgue at Naka, the LG headquarters.

Udam Samuel said that the security agencies have been deployed to the affected area to ensure normalcy returns to the place.

Udam Samuel said that the security agencies have been deployed to the affected area to ensure normalcy returns to the place.

 “Security agencies swang into action as directed by the executive chairman Gwer-West LGC, Hon Mrs Grace Igbabon.”

Mr Udam, a native of the village also said some members of the community were still missing as bodies were still being recovered.

Confirming the incident, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Anene Sewuese Catherine, said; "a team of Police officers have been deployed to the area to forestall further breakdown of law and order," pledging to communicate our Correspondent back for further details.
