The Ebonyi State building materials market located adjacent to Akanu Ibiam Flyover has officially relocated to its permanent site at Amaegu in Abakaliki Local Government Area.
Mr Francis Nwaze, the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Media and Publicity made this known in a press statement on Tuesday.
This is following the lapse of time earlier given to the traders to relocate to a better - spacious and accessible place and to give way for the overall transformation of the state capital city.
The relocation was a consensus between the State Government and the market community.
It would be recalled that the traders were earlier given till the first of October 2020 to relocate to the permanent site but following appeals and negotiations, the Governor, Engr. David Umahi graciously extended the deadline to the first of January 2021 and finally the first of March 2021.
The permanent site is located along the Abakaliki-Afikpo Highway after the timber shade, Abakaliki.
