Kola Ologbondiyan is ignorant of the happenings in Ebonyi PDP - Nwebonyi

By Victor Nwegede

The Chairman of the Peoples Democractic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State, Chief Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, during the weekend condemned the press statement issued by the national Publicity Secretary of his party, Kola Ologbondiyan against the court rule in his favour following the lingering PDP crisis in the state.

Nwebonyi said that his attention has been drawn to 'an undated press statement by the national publicity secretary of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan rejecting the decision of the Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, on the leadership of the party in Ebonyi State.'

He made this known in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki.

He added: "In the press statement, Ologbondiyan displayed a crass comprehension, nay, ignorance of the true happenings in the PDP in Ebonyi State. Of course I will not blame him because he is being fed lies by the Abuja guerillas of the PDP from Ebonyi State. His statement is just a ratiocinaction of an armchair politician. Ologbondiyan clearly shows that he did not understand the rudiments of the judgement.

"There is no point joining issues with him but for the records, I need to correct some impressions. I was never suspended or sacked from the party. Those who were suspended never objected to their suspension by way of appeal or appearance before the disciplinary committee set up to that effect. It is evident that Ologbondiyan's ignorance and unguided utterances are among  notable factors that cause dissensions within the party. Ologbondiyan is being misinformed and, I fear, if he continues like this, the PDP may suffer worse fate than it did in the last elections.

"I therefore wish to implore the National Working Committee (NWC) to ignore the shenanigans of the Abuja guerillas from Ebonyi State. They should also task Ologbondiyan, as the image maker of the party, to be more circumspect so as to redeem the image of the party his utterances have severely dented."
