Abakaliki LG Boss mourns step mother at 65

The Executive Chairman, Abakaliki Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele alongside his family members have been left to mourn the death of their beloved step mother, Late Mrs. Jeneth Mbam Nwangele, who was laid to rest yesterday at her country home, Mbam Oko Ebia in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The deceased who died at the age of 65 years was described by many as a woman of hard working, a home builder, a disciplinarian and above all, a devout Christian who has spent most of her life time in championing the course of Jesus Christ as a Christian Mother of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Ebia.

In his sermon during the funeral service of the virtues woman, the Parish Priest of St. Bartholomew's Parish, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ifeagwu emphasized the need to live a righteous life at all times, and charged the people to always pray for the deceased.

In their condolence messages, the Coordinator Ekumenyi DC, Hon. Ebere Nwogba and, Hon. Ekene Ede of Abakaliki DC encouraged the Council Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele and the entire bereaved family members not to mourn like unbelievers, stressing that all mortals are bound to die one day, and urged the people to take solace in the Lord. 

Similarly, the Coordinator, Enyida Development Centre, Hon. Mrs. Augustina Nwovu, and the youth president, Ebia Unuphu village, Mr. Chika Nwenyi described the departed woman as an ideal mother and referred to the sudden news of her demise as shocking and unexpected while praying for her gentle soul to rest in the Lord.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Abakaliki L.G.A, Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele said that he was shocked by the sudden demise of his step mother and thanked God for the life style of the departed soul, pointing out that though her presence can never be felt again here on earth but would forever be remembered for her outstanding legacies.

The Council boss observed that the absence of the Late step mother has created a very big vacuum too difficult to be filled, and promised never to relent in his efforts to secure a brighter future for the family members especially the children that she has left behind.

He appreciated the presence of all the sympathizers who came from both far and near to commiserate with them at their time of sorrow and thanked the people for their financial and moral supports while praying that the Almighty God would grant the departed soul eternal rest in His Bosom.
