Umahi lauds Izzi people for solidarity, tasks traditional rulers on unity

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engineer David Nweze Umahi has commended the people of Izzi clan for their relentless support to his administration. 


The Governor made the commendation while receiving leaders and people of Izzi clan who were on a Christmas homage at his Uburu country home. 



Governor Umahi while underscoring the imperative of influence of Traditional Rulers to peace building and unity,  charged the traditional institution to spearhead the rebuilding effort to return the clerk to its ancient history of unity. 


"anybody that wants to divide Izzi clan, you call the person to order,  I will stand by you.  Let there be peace and unity in Izzi land,  whenever you stand up in unity you can achieve anything you want to achieve"


He praised the stakeholders for their solidarity and urged them not to relent in the fight against cultism in the State. 


"let me first thank you all the good people of Izzi clan and I say that with my heart not because Uburu occupies a community in Izzi land but because you people have good heart.  Your support for our Government is unique.  If there is any criticism of our Government from Izzi, it is few.  In every 12, there must be a Judas"


Governor Umahi also appealed to the people to keep supporting the next level agenda of his administration. 


"the greatest beneficiaries of my defection is the Izzi people, me I am not contesting anything in the State except my destiny and I urge you to develop it,  fight for it and support it"


The Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and Leader of the delegation said they were on the homage to appreciate the Governor for the massive appointments of their sons and daughters into positions of thrust and for carrying them along in the scheme of things.


He called on the Governor to make himself available for election as President come 2023 to enable enable him translate his engineering prowess in the transformation of the Country. 

 

The State PDP Chairman, Chief Onyekachi Nwebonyi applauded the Governor for his love for the people and restated the people's continued support to his government. 


"we are here your excellency to say thank you for your good works in Ebonyi State majority of which are in Izzi land. We say thank you for your love and care for Izzi people"


While receiving leaders and people of Ezza Nation led by Secretary to the State Government,  Dr.  Kenneth Ugbala,  Governor Umahi restated readiness to complete the airport and airport junction flyover within the coming year. 


The Governor announced readiness to embark on construction of Oriuzor and Ameka road in the coming year and urged the people to uphold their unity. 


"let us not allow party to divide us again,  never again,  let us stay together,  let us work together and let us go to the next level together"


The people of Ivo were led by the Chairman Mr.  Onyebuchi Ogbadu and Commissioner for Information Mr Uchenna commended Governor Umahi for the transformation ongoing in the area and pledged to always support him.


The Governor also played host to delegations from Ministeries of Education, Secondary Education Board, Human Capital Development, Lands,  Special Projects, Business Development, Culture and Tourism, Information, Congress of Boards and Commission,  Elders Council, National Obstetric Fistula Centre,  Civil service commission,  Praying Widows,  College of Education Ikwo, Cabinet Office, Local government service Commission, Ebonyi indigenes in Lagos,  Agric Development Authority and FADAMA,  NUT,  Health Insurance Scheme, Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Deaf and Dumb,  Afikpo North LGA among others.


The Governor further directed that all Civil servants be granted promotion based on existing vacancies in the State Civil service.


"all existing vacancies for the promotion of Civil Servants should be exercised so that all those who are due will be promoted and this will be done before the end of first week of 2021.
