The member representing Izzi East Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Anthony Onyibe Nwegede has distributed motorcycles with cash gifts, wrappers, rice to widows, youths and other people in his area while celebrating this Christmas with his constituents at his country home, Iboko, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Nwegede told journalists that the Christmas party is held on every 24th December to celebrate with his constituents since elected as a lawmaker representing the Izzi East State Constituency.

He said that the event is used to help his constituents especially the widows, orphans, disable and other individuals.

"Empowering youths and less privileged is a part of fulfilling my campaign promises and having emerged victoriously for the second term since 2015, it has become my focal point," he said.

NATIONAL PANEL gathered that Chief Nwegede has earlier distributed over 35 motorcycles with millions of Naira to his constituents in order to encourage them and as an appreciation for their support during the 2015 and 2019 elections which led to his emergence as the lawmaker representing the Constituency in the state House.

Nwegede on last Thursday has again distributed 14 motorcycles to widows and youths of his constituency with millions of Naira to encourage them.

He equally distributed over 200 bushels of rice, wrappers, and other valuable items to his constituents during the Christmas ceremony for the year 2020.

The lawmaker said he was spurred to start empowering his constituents especially the less privileged by his political Boss, the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who according to him, 'touches many lives in mega styles.'

The Izzi East lawmaker noted that he has attracted some basic amenities such as boreholes to his constituency and promised to do more by ensuring more democratic dividends reached the area.

He advised the constituents to continue observing COVID-19 protocols and shun every kind of social vices in the area, urging them to continue supporting the leadership of Governor David Nweze Umahi.

The occasion was honoured by the Executive Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area, Chief Paul Nwogha, ably represented by his Vice, Mrs. Rosemary Nkwuda and other stakeholders who urged the people to join the next level movement by the state government to attract more democratic dividends to the area while eulogizing the lawmaker for the kind gestures.
