A prominent youths and stakeholders support organisation in Ebonyi State, Ebonyi People's Mandate(EPM), has called on Ebonyi residents to totally disregard the recent protest held in Abuja by hired protesters, noting that the sponsors of such shoddy outing were group of persons who are known for their failures over the years.
This was contained in a press statement issued to journalists on Friday in Abakaliki and signed by the National Director of Ebonyi People's Mandate(EPM), Hon. Chief Afudike Emmanuel, who said the sponsors of the protest often spring up from their hibernation during the electioneering to cause disaffection in the polity.
According to the group, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Executive Governor of Ebonyi State. has embarked on numerous life- touching human and infrastructural projects and should be supported to be re-elected for a second term.
The statement reads:" The attention of EBONYI PEOPLE'S MANDATE (EPM) has been drawn to the unacceptable and unwholesome activities of hired persons in Abuja over their misguided and misplaced protest directed at the person and administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.
"EPM, therefore, calls on right thinking members of Ebonyi State and the general public to completely disregard such shoddy protest organized by a handful hired persons, who in every election season resurfaced from their hibernation to incite unsuspecting members of the public against the government of Ebonyi State and her people", he noted.
While describing their outing as a fruitless outing, Chief Afudike Emmanuel further said they are perpetual lossers, adding that body was supporting Nwifuru for his uncommon infrastructural development in Ebonyi State.
"They are at it again against the pragmatic leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and Ebonyi people, despite their years of huge losses. They have embarked on yet another failed voyage as chronic lossers.
"EPM, notwithstanding, is satisfied with the policies and programmes of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, which is hinged on the People's Charter of Needs mantra of the incumbent administration under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), delivering massively the core dividends of democracy to Ebonyi people.
"EBONYI PEOPLE'S MANDATE (EPM), therefore wants to call on the people of Ebonyi State, who holistically gave their mandates to Governor Francis Nwifuru in their belief on his competency and capability to drive the growth and development of the state to their expectations,not to be swayed by the emotions of these detractors, who lack fact about the achievements of the governor.
"As prominent voices and stakeholders support organisation, we have meticulously and painstakingly accessed the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and came up with the conclusion that the governor has embarked on numerous life- touching human and infrastructural projects.
"Should any Ebonyi persons not satisfied with the modus operandi of the current administration in Ebonyi State under the All Progressives Congress(APC), there are known and acceptable channels of registering their displeasure other than hiding under any guise to malign the state government.
"Since assumption of office, Governor Nwifuru has shown unequivocal commitment to the overall welfare and development of Ebonyi State through concerted investments in critical sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, human capital development, workers' welfare, rural development, empowerment programmes and other numerous social interventions.
"We cannot therefore fold our hands and watch few individuals whose stock in trade is to peddle and disseminate unfounded narratives about the Ebonyi State Government and its people by ignoring facts and figures merely to please their sponsors and serve their parochial interests.
"We call for a collaboration of all genuine support organisations of the government of Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to mobilize her members against any attempt to vilify the state government because the opinion of such detractors and miscreants do not represent the opinion of the genuine people of Ebonyi State", he stated.
