AUGUST MEETING;First Lady Hails Resilient Of Ebonyi Women ,Empowers Petty Traders

The Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium was a sea of colour, culture, and conviction today as Ebonyi women from all 13 LGAs converged for the Grand Finale of the 2026 Ebonyi State Women August Meeting with Her Excellency Chief (Mrs.) Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru, First Lady of Ebonyi State.

The epoch-making event was graced by the presence of His Excellency, Senator David Nweze Umahi, CON, Honourable Minister of Works, who served as Chairman of the occasion, and Her Excellency, Princess Patricia Obila, Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, who represented His Excellency Rt Hon Builder Prince Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB FCAI GGCEHF, Governor of Ebonyi State.

This year’s gathering, themed “The Power of Resilient Women in Nation Building,” was more than a meeting. It was a clarion call, a celebration, and a masterclass in purpose.

Addressing a mammoth crowd, Her Excellency described Ebonyi women as the “unsung architects of our homes, our communities, and our state.”

“When a woman rises, a family rises. When women rise together, a nation is transformed. You are the pillars that hold the roof, the roots that anchor the tree, and the heartbeat of our society,” the First Lady declared to thunderous applause.

The event featured keynote addresses, health outreaches, skills exhibitions, and inspiring testimonials from trailblazing women across sectors. The atmosphere was electric — a perfect blend of education, empowerment, and entertainment.

The August Meeting also played host to an array of distinguished guests and celebrated female personalities whose presence added glamour and gravitas to the occasion. Their stories of grit and grace served as a beacon of inspiration to the women of Ebonyi.

In Her closing remarks, Chief. Mrs. Mary Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru charged women to be custodians of peace, agents of change, and torchbearers of the People’s Charter of Needs in their homes and communities.

“Let us not just occupy spaces. Let us transform them. Let us build legacies that our daughters will be proud to inherit. Together, we will keep Ebonyi rising,” she affirmed.

The grand finale lived up to its billing — impactful, educational, and deeply moving. It was a resounding testament to the strength, unity, and indomitable spirit of Ebonyi women.

The event was attended by top government officials, celebrities, wives of council chairmen, women leaders, and stakeholders from across the state.
