The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) Stakeholders Forum, Ebonyi State, has reaffirmed her unalloyed support and solidarity to the People's charter of needs administration of Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, citing the governor's sincere commitment to the welfare of the people of Ebonyi State, particularly the students’ community and young people.
In a statement by the Chairman, NANS Stakeholders Forum, Ebonyi State, Comr. Bldr Okoro Joshua Offor (Majesty) MNIOB FNATE FNIBIBM, the group remaked that the Governor has
distinguished himself in several critical areas of governance, including human capital development, the institutionalisation of peace in Ebonyi State, improved civil servants’ welfare, and the strengthening of the healthcare sector and award of Foreign and Domestic Scholarships: The provision of foreign and domestic scholarship opportunities for Ebonyi students is a significant investment in the intellectual development and future leadership of our state.
He called on all students’ leaders, from the national level down to the grassroots, including leaders of NANS, NAPSS, JCC, student unions, departmental associations, and other recognised students’ bodies at the local government areas, to unite in support of the re-election of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, come 2027.
His statement reads;
"The NANS Stakeholders Forum, Ebonyi State, under my leadership, wishes to publicly reaffirm our unwavering support for the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, FCAI, GGCEHF, and his re-election bid come 2027.
"Our support is rooted in sincere appreciation of the governor’s remarkable achievements, his people-oriented leadership, and his demonstrated commitment to the development and welfare of the people of Ebonyi State, particularly the students’ community and young people.
"His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has distinguished himself in several critical areas of governance, including human capital development, the institutionalisation of peace in Ebonyi State, improved civil servants’ welfare, and the strengthening of the healthcare sector.
"These achievements reflect a leadership that understands the importance of investing in people, building strong institutions, and creating an environment where citizens can thrive. The governor’s commitment to human capital development is particularly commendable. His administration’s interventions in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and other sectors have continued to demonstrate that the welfare and future of Ebonyians remain central to his administration.
"Profoundly, His Excellency has shown uncommon love, goodwill, and commitment to the Ebonyi State students’ community and ex-student leaders. This affection is not merely expressed in words but demonstrated through policies, appointments, educational interventions, and opportunities that have positively impacted the lives of students and young people across the state.
"Among the numerous reasons the students’ community should stand firmly behind the governor are the following:
"Award of Foreign and Domestic Scholarships: The provision of foreign and domestic scholarship opportunities for Ebonyi students is a significant investment in the intellectual development and future leadership of our state.
"Employment of Young Health Personnel: The employment of young health personnel, ranging from medical doctors, pharmacists, radiographers, etc across the 13 General Hospitals in Ebonyi State demonstrates the administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery while creating opportunities for young professionals.
"Increased EBSU Subvention: The increment in the subvention of Ebonyi State University has contributed to improved academic activities and institutional development. This is a clear indication of the governor’s commitment to the advancement of tertiary education in the state.
"Construction of the ICT University: The building of the ICT University in Ebonyi State is a visionary step towards equipping our youths with the digital knowledge and technological skills required to compete in the modern world. The award of scholarships to the pioneer students, who are Ebonyi youths, further underscores the administration’s commitment to inclusive human capital development.
"Improvement of Health Training Institutions: The improvement and development of the Ebonyi State School of Health Sciences, Ngbo, and the Ebonyi State School of Nursing Sciences, Uburu, are commendable steps towards producing competent healthcare professionals and improving the quality of healthcare services in the state.
"Appointments of Ex-Student Leaders: The appointment of numerous former student leaders into positions of trust is a testament to the governor’s confidence in the capacity, experience, and leadership potential of young people. These appointments have provided opportunities for many ex-student leaders to contribute meaningfully to governance and public service. Beyond appointment, he has provided a platform through which one of us, Sct Comr Eze Paul Ituma emerged as the chairman of the Ohaukwu Local Government Area. Today, he is the most proactive Chairman.
"These interventions, among several others, are genuine and compelling reasons why the students’ community and its leadership must continue to appreciate and support His Excellency.
"As students and former student leaders, we must recognise and appreciate a leader who has consistently demonstrated genuine concern for our welfare, education, professional development, and future. Not supporting the re-election of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, in view of his demonstrated commitment to the students’ community, would amount to ingratitude.
"The students’ community must stand for appreciation, loyalty, and recognition of impactful leadership. We must not forget those who have shown us love, opened doors of opportunity, and invested in our future.
